MangoBoard for Basecamp Project Organization

SplitMango is proud to present MangoBoard, a way to visualize your Basecamp projects and to-dos in a timeline.

Here at SplitMango, we’ve been using Basecamp for a few years now and wanted to fix a problem that we’ve been dealing with ourselves. It has been a struggle to view to-dos and events without going through lists. As well, rather than going through a roundtable of “What is everyone’s update on projects?” we want to view projects at a glance. We manage multiple projects and as a project manager we want to see when deliverables are due for today and for the rest of the week.

So we created MangoBoard.

Benefits of MangoBoard

Now we are able to check for status updates with great ease. Our project manager can drag and drop a project into its current status, take a screenshot and report it to our team. We built a product that we can use internally and decided to share it with over 100,000 Basecamp users out there, that’s you! If it’s good, we want to share it.

With just one click you can sync your MangoBoard seamlessly with your Basecamps.

Differences between a Board and a Status

To organize Basecamps we use boards and statuses.

A ‘board’ is where you can organize your basecamp projects, imagine a blank board if you will. The bigger overall picture. For example, let’s say we want to organize our events. So we create a board called ‘Our Events’.

A ‘status’ is a column in a board, which basecamp projects are organized under. The smaller breakdown. In this example we’ll create statuses such as ‘Upcoming’, ‘Current’, and ‘Complete’.

Once our statuses are created in our board we can then add projects to their correct column.
